Vlad knows the secrets of the Carsten Ring and uses the full extent of its powers. In addition to its usual effects, the Carsten Ring grants Vlad a 4+ ward save.

The Master of the Ring

Many troops in the Warhammer game have unique and  unusual abilities and skills. In the game, these abilities and skills are represented by special rules. Any creature may have one or more special rules and, unless otherwise mentioned, the effects from special rules are cumulative. The following list is by no means exhaustive, but it does detail the most common special rules (more can be found in the Warhammer Armies books).
