Shadowblade may use the Hidden rules of Assassins. Alternatively, he may be deployed on his own as a Scout. Lastly, he may attempt to hide inside the enemy army! After your opponent has deployed, secretly write down which enemy unit Shadowblade has attempted to infiltrate. This must be an infantry unit or war machine crew whose models are on 20mm or 25mm square bases. Shadowblade cannot join a unit of flyers.
The same rules for units being wiped out or fleeing (see page 61) apply to Shadowblade's concealing unit.
At the start of each of your opponent's turns after the first, roll a D6. On a roll of 2+ Shadowblade remains concealed. On a roll of a 1, the Master of Assassins has been discovered. Alternatively, Shadowblade may be revealed at the start of any of his turns after the first.
If Shadowblade was voluntarily revealed then the Dark Elf player may place him. If he was discovered then the opposing player places Shadowblade. If discovered, Shadowblade may make no attacks in the next close combat phase.
In either case, when Shadowblade is revealed, remove a normal rank-and-file member of the unit (he was killed before the battle), and place Shadowblade anywhere in contact with the unit. Both are now in close combat.
