Monster

Creatures such as War Hydras, Giants, Griffons, Dragons or Great Eagles are called monsters. These normally move and fight individually and never join units. They are normally mounted on a 40mm or larger base. Sometimes monsters are used as mounts by powerful characters or they are goaded into battle by a group of beastmasters.

Lord

Characters are divided into two categories: Lords and Heroes. The maximum number of characters an army can include is shown on the chart below. Of these, only a certain number can be Lords. An army must always include at least one character to act as the general. If you include more than one character, then the one with the highest Leadership value is the general. When one or more characters have the same (and highest) Leadership, choose one to be the general at the start of the battle. Make sure that your opponent knows which character is your general when you deploy your army.
